God is not worried or depressed by His enemies! Neither should we be! The secular world spins madly around us. As the pace of information has multiplied exponentially over the last few decades, so has the pace of misinformation, lies and premature conclusions. There are systemic lies in our culture, from evolution to godless humanism. We see tremendous pressure on all companies and agencies to cave in to silly theories and mindless emotions.

We see the hypocrisy of those who love science until science disagrees with their corrupt desires. We see ignorant and badly educated young people criticizing professors for their choice of words. The very professors who fought for “academic freedom” to be controversial are now being canceled! We are seeing that freedom is meaningless unless it is freedom under God.

Social media has made this even worse for younger people. Whatever happened to the commercial joke that “it must be true because I saw it on the internet.” We would do well to remember that and laugh at the idea that everything in the media is true. But the daily news is as the grass- it withers and fades away. God’s Word and the words of Jesus still stand after two thousand years. Jesus said, “heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words will never pass away.” Almost 2,000 years later that still holds true. And though most of the world ignores them, the words of Jesus are still accessible to most of the world’s population.

How sad that people will live their lives without consulting the Manufacturer’s Handbook. The Bible used to be in nearly everyone’s home. Now it is only a click or two away on the internet. But, like Truth itself, it endures whether men believe it or not. Someday we will all be judged by it in the courtroom of heaven. Those outside of Christ will stand before God’s Great White Throne judgment to have their deeds revealed and judged. Believers will have a separate judgment at the “judgment seat of Christ” for their rewards (II Corinthians 5:10). Their sins are forgiven and remembered no more! What a contrast to those who think they can cheat justice in this life, only to be judged at the last day.

The Bible makes it clear that whether you are a lying politician, professor or a murderer, your deeds will be judged. Princes and paupers are all alike and accountable to God. And of course, the road to hell is still paved with good intentions. We wonder why crime is skyrocketing when we need look no further than a corrupt and spiritually ignorant culture. Kids are growing up in amoral schools with no knowledge of the Ten Commandments, let alone the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

Lord, help us to turn off the media and tune in to your Word. Thank you that your truth still stands and will stand for eternity. Help us to spend less time on those things that are like fading grass and withering flowers, and more time with You!

Thank you for Christian media and music that help us to focus more on You. Bless the outlets of truth around us. Bless the church and help us to continue to proclaim your Word and warn those around us before it is too late.

Help us not to shrink back from challenges, but to rise to them by the help of the Holy Spirit. Give us the words we need and hearts of love and true compassion. Remind us that all our efforts to help people will be for naught if we don’t give them truth that leads to eternal hope. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen.
